I Kissed a Star and I Liked It

I need to say it: I Kissed a Star and I Liked It is messy, dramatic, funny, dangerous, and honestly very addictive. It feels like a Hollywood romance crashed into a cult escape thriller, then added scandal, jealousy, secrets, and one very confused boy discovering the real world for the first time.

Genres and Tropes

This series is mainly a BL romance, but it is not only about love. It also has Hollywood drama, thriller, dark comedy, and forbidden romance. The story uses many strong tropes: celebrity romance, runaway boy, protector love interest, forced closeness, secret relationship, closeted star, jealous ex, fake public image, dangerous cult, and fish out of water.

One of my favorite tropes here is the “innocent outsider enters a cruel glamorous world” trope. Timothy has no idea how Hollywood works. He does not understand parties, phones, paparazzi, alcohol, or even simple flirting. This makes him funny, but also very vulnerable. Damian, on the other hand, knows this world too well. He is charming, powerful, and famous, but he is also trapped by his image.

Short Plot Summary

The story begins when Timothy runs into Damian Ortega’s mansion while escaping from a spiritual cult. He hides in Damian’s bedroom and accidentally meets the famous movie star in the most chaotic way possible. Damian quickly realizes Timothy is not just a random intruder. Timothy has a mysterious tattoo connected to the cult, and the cult may also be linked to Damian’s own dark past.

Damian decides to protect Timothy, but his help comes with rules, secrets, and a lot of emotional tension. Timothy is pulled into Damian’s world of luxury, movie sets, parties, paparazzi, and fake smiles. At the same time, Damian’s manager and fiancée, Celeste, is trying to keep Damian’s public image under control. She knows one scandal could destroy everything.

The romance grows through danger, comedy, jealousy, and forbidden attraction. Timothy is confused by his feelings, while Damian tries to act cool and controlled, even when he clearly cares too much. Their bond becomes more complicated when Ashley, someone from Damian’s past, appears and threatens to expose them. Soon the story becomes not only about love, but also about survival.

Characters

Timothy is innocent, emotional, strange in the cutest way, and deeply traumatized by the cult he escaped from. Sometimes he is so naive that I wanted to shake him a little, but that is also what makes him so lovable. He is not stupid; he is just new to freedom. Watching him discover desire, fear, trust, and modern life is both funny and touching.

Actor – Jack Snyder.

Damian Ortega is the dangerous movie star fantasy. He is beautiful, rich, confident, and very dramatic. At first, he feels like someone who enjoys control too much. But slowly, we see that he is not just playing with Timothy. Damian is also scared, wounded, and trapped by fame. His public life is glamorous, but his private life is full of secrets.

Actor – J.W. Harvey.

Celeste Marlowe is Damian’s manager and public fiancée. I actually enjoyed her because she is not just a jealous woman standing in the way. She is sharp, ambitious, stylish, and very aware of the industry. She wants to protect Damian’s career, but she also wants control. She brings a lot of tension because she understands the price of scandal better than anyone.

Ashley is chaos in human form. He has history with Damian, and he knows exactly how to hurt him. I did not always like him, but I liked what he brings to the story. He makes the romance more dangerous because he can expose Damian and Timothy at any moment. He also shows us that Damian has left emotional damage behind him.

Personal Opinion

As a romance fan, I loved the emotional contrast between Timothy and Damian. Timothy is soft, confused, and desperate for safety. Damian is polished, famous, and used to hiding everything. Together, they create a very strong push-and-pull dynamic. Their scenes can be funny one moment and intense the next.

The best part of the series is the chemistry. It is not a calm romance. It is nervous, forbidden, scandalous, and full of “oh no, they should not do this, but I want them to” energy. I also liked the Hollywood setting because it makes every private feeling feel public and dangerous. One photo, one video, one wrong move — and everything can explode.

Conclusion

I Kissed a Star and I Liked It is a wild, dramatic BL romance with Hollywood glamour, cult danger, secret desire, and messy celebrity politics. It has a sweet runaway hero, a complicated movie star protector, a sharp manager, and a jealous troublemaker from the past.

It is not a soft and peaceful love story. It is dramatic, sexy, funny, emotional, and sometimes completely unhinged — in the best vertical-drama way. If you like forbidden romance, celebrity scandals, protective love interests, and chaotic chemistry, this series is very easy to binge.
