Addicted to His Darkness

Genres & Tropes

Dark romance, psychological drama, erotic romance, thriller.
Tropes you’ll see: abusive past, broken heroine, dominant male lead, obsession vs love, love triangle, rich powerful man, healing through desire, toxic relationships, dangerous ex, trauma & recovery, BDSM dynamics (consent vs abuse).

Plot Summary

Meryl is a quiet, traumatized woman trying to rebuild her life after escaping a violent husband. But her past refuses to let her go. When she meets Daniel, a cold but powerful man with his own darkness, everything changes.

What starts as protection turns into something deeper—and more dangerous. Meryl is pulled between fear and desire, between the man who broke her and the man who might either save her… or destroy her in a different way.

This is not a soft love story. It’s about pain, control, and learning the difference between abuse and consent.

Characters

Meryl Sullivan
A deeply broken heroine. She starts as fragile and scared. Years of abuse shaped her into someone who doesn’t understand her own desires.
But what makes her interesting? She changes. Slowly, painfully, she starts reclaiming herself.

Actrees – Lacey Koughan.

Daniel Moore
Cold. Controlled. Powerful. The classic dominant male—but not simple.
He struggles with guilt and a need for control, and his attraction to Meryl reveals a darker side of him. He wants to protect her… but also dominate her. That tension is EVERYTHING.

Actor – David Terry.

Sam (the ex-husband)
Pure nightmare. Not just an ex—he’s a psychological and physical abuser who sees Meryl as property.
He is the embodiment of toxic control and obsession. Honestly, one of those villains you truly hate.

Actor – Ty Javos.

Roxy
Daniel’s manipulative fiancée. Rich, unstable, and obsessed.
She brings chaos, jealousy, and adds pressure to the already explosive dynamic.

Actrees – Nima Wadsworth.

Personal Opinion

This series is intense. Like… really intense.

What I love:

  • The difference between toxic abuse vs consensual power dynamics is actually explored (and that’s rare).
  • Meryl’s journey from victim to someone who chooses her desires is powerful.
  • Chemistry between Meryl and Daniel is addictive. You feel it.

BUT…

  • Some scenes go VERY far. It can feel uncomfortable, even disturbing.
  • Daniel is not always “safe”—and that line between protector and danger is sometimes too blurry.
  • The story sometimes romanticizes darkness a bit too much.

Still… if you like dark romance, this is exactly the kind of story that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.

Conclusion

Addicted to His Darkness is not about perfect love.
It’s about finding yourself in the middle of chaos, trauma, and desire.

It’s messy. It’s risky. It’s emotional.

And honestly?
If you love dark, obsessive romance with high stakes and raw emotions—you will be completely hooked.
