What Was I Made For

Genres & Tropes

What Was I Made For is a dark romance and forced marriage vertical series with strong elements of enemies-to-lovers, obsessive love, power imbalance, and revenge. It also features family secrets, pregnancy, infertility, class differences, and disability representation, creating a rich emotional rollercoaster.

Plot

The story begins at a wedding — not Eva’s, but her younger sister Maggie’s. When Maggie’s betrayal is revealed in front of all the guests, ruthless billionaire Damian Montclair cancels the wedding and forces Eva, Maggie’s older sister, to take her place at the altar.

Eva, proud and resilient despite her limp and past trauma, agrees to marry him to protect her family’s name and land. But this marriage is anything but loving. Damian is controlling, cruel, and obsessed with power. He wants an heir, and Eva hides a painful secret: she is infertile. As the story unfolds, secrets, betrayal, blackmail, and violence threaten to destroy them both. But feelings grow, and soon obsession turns into something deeper — and much more dangerous.

Why You’ll Love This Series

What Was I Made For pulls you in immediately with its intense first episode and never lets go. I loved how Eva, despite her physical and emotional pain, never gives up. The chemistry between her and Damian is toxic but electric. Every scene leaves you guessing — will he hurt her, protect her, or fall apart for her?

The plot twists are wild: fake deaths, attempted murder, poisoning, betrayal, and one of the best redemption arcs I’ve seen in a vertical series. Damian goes from terrifying to… dare I say… soft (in his own dangerous way). And Eva’s final act of rebellion? Iconic.

Conclusion

This series is a must-watch for fans of dark, twisted love stories where the heroine fights against impossible odds and the villain just might have a heart — buried deep, deep down. It’s emotional, dramatic, and completely addictive. What Was I Made For isn’t just a title — it’s a question that Eva answers with fire, fury, and love.

10/10 – For viewers who like their romance dangerous, dramatic, and unforgettable.
