Short Plot Summary

Rowan is a strong lead, which makes the story easier to root for. Her background and inner strength add emotional weight.
That said, the romance is intentionally uncomfortable at times. Alex’s behavior often crosses into emotional cruelty, and not everyone will enjoy that dynamic. The power imbalance is extreme, and the story does not always soften it quickly.
